Rapsodo and GCMA join forces to modernise golf practice facilities across the UK

Sports technology company Rapsodo has teamed up with the Golf Club Management Association (GCMA) to help golf clubs throughout the UK discover accessible driving range technology. The partnership aims to support clubs in improving their practice facilities, creating better golfer experiences and exploring new commercial opportunities without the need for major investment.

Since introducing Rapsodo Range, the company has secured more than 10 installations in under a year across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Developed for golf clubs and independent driving ranges, the system brings together ball and club tracking, video replay and interactive practice tools to deliver a more engaging and insight-led experience.

Making driving range technology more accessible

Rapsodo Range gives facilities a flexible way to upgrade their offering, with no upfront investment beyond a refundable security deposit. Flexible contracts and the ability to begin with just a handful of bays make the system suitable for a wide range of venues. Its compact footprint also makes it an option for facilities without the space or demand for a conventional large-scale range. Installation can generally be completed within a day, depending on site requirements.

Each unit delivers 11 performance metrics, including ball speed, carry distance, club speed and launch angle. Video replays, virtual golf courses and interactive games add further ways for golfers to practise, develop their skills and enjoy their time at the range. For operators, these features can help encourage repeat visits, increase engagement and support year-round use.

Matthew Rigby, Rapsodo’s Director of International Markets, said: “Driving range technology should be accessible to clubs of different sizes, not just large commercial facilities. Our growing UK installation base demonstrates demand for a flexible, cost-effective solution that benefits golfers and makes commercial sense for facilities. Through the GCMA, we look forward to bringing that opportunity to more club managers.”

The technology is already making a difference at UK venues. Middleton Hall Golf Club has installed Rapsodo Range across all eight of its driving range bays. David Freeman, Director at the club, said: “We were impressed by the exceptional value for money and how easy the system was to set up. The results speak for themselves: increased footfall, higher revenue and extremely positive feedback.”

The partnership will give GCMA members opportunities to explore how Rapsodo Range can refresh existing facilities, strengthen golfer engagement and identify additional revenue streams without the expense of large-scale redevelopment.

Darren Wood, GCMA Partnerships Manager, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Rapsodo as a new GCMA partner, strengthening our network of leading organizations supporting golf clubs and the people who manage them. This partnership will provide opportunities for GCMA members to learn more about Rapsodo’s technology and its applications within golf, while enabling Rapsodo to build closer relationships with club managers and professionals across the UK.”
