Burford-based independent recognised for agency performance, regional excellence and its contribution to the Cotswolds community
The Cotswold Letting Agency has been shortlisted in three categories at The Negotiator Awards 2026, one of the UK property industry’s leading independent awards programmes.
The Burford-based independent letting agency is a finalist for:
- Lettings Agency of the Year – Small
- Regional Agency of the Year: South West
- Community Champion
The triple shortlisting comes just a year after The Cotswold Letting Agency was named Regional Agency of the Year – South West at The Negotiator Awards 2025, and follows a period of significant growth and development for the business.
Founded in 2022, The Cotswold Letting Agency specialises exclusively in residential lettings and property management across the Cotswolds. Its portfolio has grown from 89 properties in 2024 to 152 today, while turnover increased by 22.2% over the course of 2025, from £433,606 to £530,000.
Alongside its commercial growth, the agency became a Certified B Corporation in October 2025, achieving a B Impact score of 88.3. Its commitment to responsible business has included becoming a Living Wage Employer, measuring and reducing its environmental impact, prioritising local suppliers and supporting organisations and initiatives across the Cotswolds.
The Community Champion shortlisting particularly recognises an approach that extends beyond property. The agency created the Burford Map to promote 30 independent local businesses free of charge, works with 58 suppliers and retains more than 40% of its expenditure within 50 miles of its office. It also supports Caring for the Cotswolds, has volunteered with Cotswolds National Landscape and brought together businesses from across the local property sector for a charity padel tournament which raised £2,000 for Maggie’s Oxford and Supporting Wounded Veterans.
Fergus Mitchell, Founder and Director of The Cotswold Letting Agency, said: “To be shortlisted in all three categories we entered is something the whole team is incredibly proud of. We set out to build an agency that was very good at what it does, but also one that genuinely contributes to the place in which we all live and work.
“Being recognised for the strength of the agency, our performance within the South West and our contribution to the community feels particularly meaningful because those things have always been connected for us. We believe you can grow a successful business while remaining personal, responsible and properly rooted in your local community.
“Winning Regional Agency of the Year – South West last year was a huge moment for us, so to be returning in 2026 with three shortlist places is a fantastic reflection of how far the team has continued to take the business.”
The Negotiator Awards have been running for 19 years and describe themselves as the UK’s leading and most prestigious independent awards programme for the estate and letting agency sector. The 2026 awards attracted another record-breaking level of entries, with finalists selected across 34 categories.
Announcing this year’s shortlist, Event Director Grant Leonard said a Negotiator Award acts as a “hallmark of excellence and quality”, with entries independently judged by industry experts and peers. He added that the programme’s judging process is designed to ensure that recognition as “the best” is genuinely meaningful.
The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London, on November 27, attended by around 1,000 property professionals from across the UK.
