LONDON, UK. October 8th, 2026: ONEEV is gaining ground in the UK’s electric vehicle market, becoming the country’s leading free EV app less than 12 months after its full launch. The platform is already helping thousands of drivers across the UK and Ireland manage charging and plan journeys without relying on a collection of separate services.
Co-founded by Tim Moore and Lyndon Gough, the business grew out of their shared experiences of the frustrations associated with owning and driving an electric vehicle. Unreliable charger information, multiple apps and a fragmented range of ownership services highlighted the need for a simpler alternative.
ONEEV now connects drivers to more than 70,000 charge points, combining charging access, payments, journey planning and additional EV services within one platform.
The company’s progress began with an idea in early 2024, developed into a beta platform during 2025 and reached full public launch in December 2025.
Through the app, drivers can search for charge points, check live availability, compare real-time prices, complete secure payments and receive immediate charging receipts. They can also map out journeys with charging stops included, helping make longer trips more predictable. Registration provides free access to the app’s core charging, payment and journey-planning features.
Where many charging apps are designed around a particular network or operator, ONEEV takes an independent approach, allowing users to access infrastructure from multiple providers through one service.
“We don’t need to tie ourselves to any one provider because we work with them all,” said co-founder Tim Moore.
Accurate information is central to the platform’s approach. The company reports data accuracy of 99.8 per cent through its ONEEV technology platform, supporting more confident decisions when drivers choose where to charge.
The app also extends beyond public charging, connecting users with EV-related services such as home charger installation, insurance, tyres, breakdown cover and accessories.
Drivers can additionally benefit from a loyalty scheme that rewards charging activity, with incentives including gift cards.
Moore said: “The original idea came from our own experiences as EV drivers. We felt there was an opportunity to simplify a process that had become fragmented and frustrating for many people. We’re creating value for both drivers and charging providers by bringing everything together in one place.”
Co-founder Lyndon Gough added: “Reliable information remains one of the most important factors in creating a better charging experience. Our focus has been on giving drivers confidence that the information they see is accurate and up to date.”
The founders recognised that the complexity of EV ownership extended well beyond finding a charger. Drivers frequently had to use different services for charging, navigation, insurance, vehicle maintenance, tyres and roadside assistance, making everyday ownership more difficult than necessary.
As the UK and Ireland platform continues to grow, the business is preparing for its next stage of development. Its longer-term expansion plans include Europe, Australia and the United States once the UK offering has been fully developed.
With electric vehicle adoption continuing to rise, ONEEV aims to meet growing demand for a more connected ownership experience that brings charging, payments and related services together in a single driver-focused app.
