Harjinder, a former CNC Technician now based in England, has turned his passion for storytelling into reality with his debut novel — a touching exploration of courage, cultural adaptation, and the search for identity in an ever-changing world.
The narrative centres on Ajay, a young boy who enjoys a carefree childhood in his village, surrounded by family, friends, and the simplicity of rural life. At fourteen, his world changes dramatically when he decides to join his father in England, setting him on a path filled with challenges, growth, and new beginnings.
Arriving in a foreign land, Ajay must adapt to life at a British secondary school, learn unfamiliar customs, and face the growing pains of adolescence. His journey captures the universal struggle between holding onto one’s heritage and embracing the opportunities of a new home.
Harjinder’s debut novel beautifully weaves together themes of nostalgia, resilience, and belonging. With heartfelt prose and cultural depth, it resonates with readers who have ever faced the uncertainty of change or the complexities of living between two worlds.
“Ajay’s journey demonstrates the bravery it takes to break free from everything familiar and start over,” says Harjinder. “I wanted to write a story that speaks not only to those who have experienced migration but also to anyone who has ever had to adapt, persevere, and grow.”
Harjinder brings a lifetime of experience and insight to his writing. A self-proclaimed “jack of all trades,” he has worked as a CNC Technician, auto mechanic, and all-round DIY enthusiast, skilled in repairing boilers, vehicles, and household appliances.
Now enjoying retirement, Harjinder lives in England with his wife, taking pleasure in spending time with their adult children and grandchildren. Beyond writing, he loves swimming, playing darts, travelling—especially on cruises—and going for long, peaceful walks. He often says that his wife’s home-cooked meals remain among life’s greatest delights.
This debut marks an exciting new chapter in Harjinder’s life, showcasing his creativity and deep appreciation for human resilience through the art of storytelling.
The book is available now in both print and digital formats through major online retailers, including Amazon (www.Amazon.co.uk/dp/1636409369). It is also registered with Gardners Books, a leading wholesaler.
