Yet again, no appropriate action was taken.

After another month-and-a-half, Mrs F’s left eye vision became blurred, leading her to seek emergency medical attention. She was admitted to the hospital, but tragically, she lost all vision in her left eye several days later.

Following thorough examination, Mrs F was diagnosed with GCA and PMR. She underwent blood transfusions and commenced high-dose steroid medication, which resulted in side effects, including Cushing’s Disease.

The Claim: Mrs F pursued the claim on the grounds that her GP should have diagnosed and treated her for PMR during her initial consultation. Early treatment with low-dose steroids could have prevented the side effects she now endures.

Moreover, during her second visit, her GP should have recognised signs of GCA and initiated investigations and treatment to prevent the vision loss in her left eye.

The Outcome: Gadsby Wicks conducted an extensive investigation into Mrs F’s case and initiated legal proceedings. Initially, the Defendants denied any breach of duty and causation. However, after exchanging expert evidence, the claim eventually settled out of court.

As a result, Mrs F received fair compensation for her pain, suffering, and the challenges she faced. The successful outcome provided her with the answers and closure she sought, offering support as she moves forward from this distressing incident.

The player (whose identity remains confidential for legal reasons) was charged with making a racist comment during a league match last season.

Manleys submitted grounds of appeal, asserting two key points. Firstly, they argued that the original decision was “Wednesbury unreasonable,” meaning that no other tribunal would have arrived at the same decision based on the facts and evidence presented. Secondly, they contended that the player did not receive a fair hearing.

Representing the player during the appeal hearing, Mark Manley, Managing Director of Manleys, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome. He stated, “The player and his family are naturally very pleased that the appeal succeeded, and the sanction entirely lifted. The player accordingly considers himself exonerated.”

The disciplinary charge carried significant implications for the player’s reputation, making the appeal a crucial matter. Successfully overturning the initial decision meant sparing the player from lasting reputational consequences.

The regulations prohibit motorists from rearranging letters, altering them, or changing the spacing on the number plate. Failure to comply with these rules may result in a hefty fine and could even lead to the vehicle failing its MOT test.

Government guidelines state that number plates must accurately display the registration number without any modifications that make it hard to read. Violating this requirement may result in a fine of up to £1,000, and your vehicle will fail its MOT test if driven with incorrectly displayed number plates.

Jon Kirkbright, the sales director at Platehunter, a company specialising in buying and selling private number plates, is urging drivers to ensure their number plates are kept clean and unmarked for easy readability.

Kirkbright advises, “Maintaining a clean car is essential in many ways – just as you wouldn’t drive around with a dirty windscreen or wing mirror, the same rule should apply to your number plate.”

The current vehicle registration number format, introduced in 2001, comprises two letters denoting the region of initial registration, two numbers indicating the date of issue, and three randomly chosen letters. However, private registration plates may deviate from this format and can have as little as one character.
