CORK, IRELAND. September 22nd, 2026 – Applied Biopharm Consulting Ltd has announced the development of Applied BioSight, a predictive computational platform designed to support the formulation of monoclonal antibody therapeutics. The platform analyses antibody amino acid sequences and physicochemical characteristics alongside formulation and sequence data from 144 approved commercial antibodies. Using these combined datasets, Applied BioSight produces ranked formulation recommendations covering buffer systems, pH ranges and excipients, providing development teams with evidence-based options for early formulation studies.
Establishing a stable and effective formulation is a critical part of developing monoclonal antibody therapeutics. The process of determining appropriate buffers, pH conditions and excipients can, however, require extensive experimental screening, adding both time and cost to development programmes.
Applied BioSight provides formulation recommendations for both liquid and lyophilised antibody products, allowing development teams to consider approaches appropriate to their intended drug product format. The platform can also identify commercially available antibodies with similar characteristics and provide associated formulation information, offering relevant commercial precedent to support formulation decisions and experimental planning.
An initial retrospective assessment involving an independent panel of 30 monoclonal antibodies produced encouraging results. Of the 21 antibodies for which adequate formulation data were available for direct comparison, the Applied BioSight predictions matched the documented development or commercial formulation for 17 antibodies, representing 81%, when the two highest ranked predictions were considered. The results provide a basis for further assessment of the platform in prospective laboratory studies.
Applied Biopharm Consulting is now inviting biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to collaborate on prospective experimental evaluation of Applied BioSight.
