PoweringAI (wearepowering.ai) has officially launched as a new pan-European venture focused on developing next-generation data centre infrastructure. The initiative aims to reshape the sector by accelerating the delivery of AI-ready facilities through the conversion of large-scale powered industrial sites into advanced computing hubs.
The company has emerged as a strategic spin-off from Xynteo, an advisory firm known for its work in driving sustainable value creation. Xynteo is supported by funds advised by Leon Capital LLP, a European investment specialist. While many developers continue to face challenges in securing land and power, PoweringAI enters the market with a pipeline of projects totalling 350 MW, positioning it strongly from the outset.
At the core of its approach is the redevelopment of legacy industrial and port-based assets into integrated energy and data centre sites, effectively linking traditional industry with the evolving demands of the digital economy.
“We are unlocking a category of sites that have remained inaccessible to the broader market,” said Michael Youtsos, Partner at Leon Capital and Chair of PoweringAI. “By tapping into Xynteo’s industrial incumbent relationships, coupled with more than a year’s worth of investment in IP and expertise with site origination and development, we are creating a platform that delivers commercial success at the intersection of power and compute.”
Alex Rabbetts, Senior Advisor, Data Centres at PoweringAI, said: “As Europe’s energy transition accelerates, the intersection of power, industry, and compute will define the next decade of infrastructure investment. PoweringAI is uniquely positioned to build that bridge—delivering sustainable, powered data centre sites with deep industrial integration.”
The creation of PoweringAI from within Xynteo reflects a broader commitment to collaborative, system-level change, now applied to one of Europe’s most pressing infrastructure challenges.
“This spin-off is a natural evolution of Xynteo’s mission—turning complex industrial challenges into scalable opportunities for good growth,” said Rasmus Lundsgaard, Partner and CEO of Xynteo. “PoweringAI is building the development engine Europe needs to deliver AI infrastructure at speed, with quality, and with industrial legitimacy.”
Looking ahead, PoweringAI aims to establish itself as a leading platform for converting Europe’s industrial regions into advanced digital infrastructure hubs, supporting the continent’s competitiveness in the rapidly evolving global AI landscape.
